VIETNAM POLYMATH REU - ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
We are pleased to announce that the 2024-2025 Vietnam Polymath REU is now accepting applications.
Vietnam Polymath REU (Research for Undergraduate Students) is a yearlong, fully remote program designed to expose undergraduate students to accessible research problems and to carry out original research under the supervision of an experienced mentor. Undergraduates throughout Vietnam are encouraged to apply.
Research Areas: Algebra, Analysis, Combinatorics, Computer Science, Number Theory.

Objective: This event promises to be an enriching experience for all participants, showcasing undergraduate research and fostering academic connections for undergraduate students. This workshop is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in mathematical research, exchange ideas, and collaborate on future projects.

UVa-Vietnam Polymath REU joint mathematics seminar
We are excited to introduce the UVa-Vietnam Polymath REU joint mathematics seminar!
The seminar serves as an opportunity for students to present mathematical findings, be they from directed readings or from research, aimed at an audience of their peers. Speakers should be undergraduate mathematics majors at the University of Virginia or participants in the Vietnam Polymath REU program, though any interested party is welcome to attend talks.
The seminar will take place between April 29 and May 17, 2024.

PhD offers
Many congratulations to Minh Quan Vo and Sung-Yi Liao for PhD offers!
During the 2022-2023 academic year, Minh Quan Vo and Sung-Yi Liao were two students who worked on combinatorics projects supervised by Thang Pham, Steven Senger, and Chun-Yen Shen.
Minh Quan received offers from three institutions: the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the University of Illinois Chicago, and Arizona State University.
Sung-Yi Liao received 2 offers from the University of Bristol and Virginia Tech.
